Controlling Light

In working on an advertising campaign for one of our client’s, we used a stock image of a beer stein in the piece we were designing. Although the image worked well given the context of the design, it sparked my interest as to whether I could do better. The image to the left was made in broad daylight, using three strobes (flashes) to control how much light hit the stein, and where.

The remaining images below came through experimenting with controlling light (and darkness for that matter). I’m quite happy with the results and I’ve come to really like the beer stine image.
