Inspiration at Eleven 44

Inspiration can strike at the weirdest times! One night, after watching one of my favourite documentaries: Annie Leibovitz Life Through A Lens, I had the overwhelming urge to get up and shoot. This time, it was black and white photographs only. They had to have lots of deep, dark shadows and I wanted the photos to look “grainy” like many old films used to look. I imagine the sudden inspiration came from seeing a master photographer at work, watching how she always carried a camera around with her because you never know when inspiration will come a calling. So true!

None of these photos will win me any awards but it certainly is nice to feel inspired to shoot.
