My 100 & Me [Week 05]

This week was all about black and white images…from just one session. Seriously, anyone who has tried to do a photo “challenge” consistently will know that it’s really tough to stay consistent. Building something like this into your routine takes time, and effort, and the knowledge to be able to recognize what is working and what isn’t.

For me, carrying a camera isn’t enough. I do that every day with a very capable camera in my iPhone. No, I have to physically and mentally get into the state of making photographs. That requires me to stop, look around, and think about what I’m doing. That’s the tough part for me. Too many times, I’m on autopilot, trying to get the tasks done on my to-do list that I don’t recognize photo opportunities right in front of me.

So, I’ll keep working at this because I think it’s a valuable process that I’m going through.

Below are some images I made on a quick trip back to the GTA. Dana was feeling nostalgic and we took a trip up to Palgrave to visit (of all things), the convenience store she used to go to when she was a wee lass. Ice cream was had….despite it being a frigid day in April. Good times.
