Lifestyle Product Photography

In an instant, the COVID-19 Pandemic changed a lot for small businesses. Many brick-and-mortar shops had to close their doors because they were deemed “non-essential.” Business owners were stuck with rising expenses and little to no way to recoup those costs. A 2nd lockdown brought more pain, hardships and closures.

When you live in a rural community, for many an online shop or a social media marketing plan was not something that fit into the budget before COVID, but was an essential service after.

My extensive background in photography, print and digital management, and social media marketing connected me with business owners looking for solutions but not sure where to turn or even what questions to ask.

A lot of times good marketing comes from taking a deep dive into what your business does best. It’s only there that you will find the core messaging that will connect you with your digital market. The next steps all focus around showing your products or services in the best light, writing compelling content that supports those images, and getting those two things out to your customers on a consist basis.

Please feel free to contact me with your unique business promotional requirements and to talk more about how I can help accomplish those goals.

Studio OR Environmental Portrait Sessions

So a classic or timeless photo session is more your speed? Maybe you need promotional material for an upcoming marketing campaign? Or maybe your new job requires you to have professional headshots done? Or you’re an actor (or actress) who needs headshots for an upcoming audition? Whatever your situation, you’ll be happy to hear I have experience in studio portraiture and have a completely mobile setup. I have access to studio strobes, light and background stands, canvas and muslin painted backdrops as well as a host of different props that might help stylize your shoot.

The best part about this type of shoot: it’s done in a completely controlled environment so no waiting for the warmer weather to hit so we can get outside for the shoot. That sounds pretty good to me considering we live in a climate where it could snow six months out of the year!

I’d love to work with you to come up with the best session that meets your needs. Please contact me and let’s have a chat.

Live Event Photography

My passion for photography all started with live events. Attending concerts with my friends was a great way to get out of my parents house and to experience live music at the same time. This eventually led to gigs documenting bands such as The Tragically Hip, The Glorious Sons, Wintersleep, The Fast Romantics, Hollerado, The Trews, Miss Emily, The High Dials, Matisyahu and many more. Documenting live shows is something that I hold near and dear to my heart. There is something about the unpredictability of a live event that keeps me on my toes and gets the adrenaline going!

When my wife and I met all those years ago, she was pursuing a career as an actor. This naturally led me to bringing my concert photography experience to the theatre. I have documented many plays and continue to enjoy making photographs of theatre performances.

Finally, I’ve worked with several companies and corporations documenting publicity events, motivational speakers, gala awards nights and Christmas parties. If you have an upcoming event that you think I might be able to help with, I’d love to hear from you.

Lifestyle Portrait Sessions

Lifestyle portraiture is a great way to capture those everyday moments and keep them as lasting memories. This style of portrait session also lends itself to a more relaxed image – not just the “say cheese” smiles that we all see in family photo albums from when we were young. I have over eleven years experience with these types of sessions and a wealth of images in my portfolio so you can see exactly the type of photographs you will be getting.

This type of session really lends itself well to social media headshot updates, small business promotional material or simply personal sessions to document this stage of your life.

Sessions are usually booked in two hour blocks, but can be completely customized based on your needs. I find a two hour session is just the right time to get us both relaxed with each other and in the right headspace to produce some images we are both happy with. Sometimes clients also want to do a wardrobe change and with a session length like this, we can accommodate that request. Please feel free to contact me with your unique portrait requirements and to talk more about how I can help with your photographic needs.
