Swans of Loon Lake

We were pleasantly surprised to learn that Swans regularly visit Loon Lake. They typically stay clear of any of the people and boaters that happen down this end of the lake and it’s tough to photograph them at such a distance. They basically keep to themselves which I’m ok with. But on this afternoon, their white features offered a unique contrast against the blue water of the lake and the change colours of the leaves above.

Of course, while I was out, I couldn’t help taking some photos of the other areas surrounding our property. The mid-afternoon light was warm and casting some stunning shadows on the trees and ground.

Always surprised to spot a snake out on my walk too!
